California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #129190)
Why the name flourishing with Maggie?
Is honoring change and growth in the process of pain and imperfections. I believe that when we let ourselves become vulnerable to speak up and reach out for help, the process of flourishing becomes to unfold with self-love, grace, compassion, and patience, to understand yourself as whole. The families I have work with have accomplished their treatment goals successfully by having a better relationship with Pain and Imperfections that makes them flourish in their own unique way.
How can we get star working Together?
Our journey together starts with a complimentary phone consultation and an intake session. During this initial phase, we discuss what motivated you to seek therapy, while acknowledging the feelings and challenges you’ve been facing. It’s an important step to ensure I am the therapist who can best guide you through your emotions and thoughts. In the intake session, I focus on understanding your symptoms and gather key details about your medical and family history, which is essential for a comprehensive understanding of your personal story. If you choose to continue, we’ll set up a follow-up session and begin our therapeutic process. I recommend meeting with clients at least once a week or every other week to maintain consistent progress in addressing needs. As you achieve your treatment goals, we’ll gradually reduce the frequency of our sessions, easing you out of the therapy process.
As a bilingual therapist fluent in both English and Spanish, I offer inclusive and culturally sensitive care to a diverse range of clients. In my care approach, cultural responsiveness plays a crucial role. Understanding the significant role language plays in therapy, my bilingual proficiency ensures clients can express themselves fully in the language they are most comfortable with. This capability is especially vital in effectively connecting with and comprehending the unique experiences of clients from various cultural backgrounds.
Beyond language, I actively integrate elements of the fine arts into the therapeutic process. This includes music, symbols, dance, and culturally relevant games like ‘loteria’ and ‘Candy Land’, as well as the use of cuentos or stories. These elements are not just therapeutic tools; they provide a familiar and meaningful context for clients, helping them find and embrace their authentic voices. This approach supports clients in discovering and nurturing their true selves, fostering personal growth and flourishing in their ongoing life journey.
My approach to care is deeply influenced by my core values, which emphasize seeing each client as a unique individual with their own set of circumstances and stressors that have led them to seek therapy. I carefully consider not only the immediate issues but also the cultural, psychosocial, and economic factors that may contribute to their distress and their coping mechanisms.
Creating a safe space filled with warmth, compassion, and genuine empathy is paramount in my practice. This environment is not only for addressing immediate concerns but also for uncovering underlying patterns and triggers. This approach fosters lasting change and builds resilience.
I am committed to providing a safe, supportive, and confidential space where you can explore, heal, and grow. Whether you are navigating life’s challenges or pursuing personal development, I am here to support you at every step. In my practice, every voice is heard, every story is respected, and every individual is valued.
